May Day Significantly Commemorated

 

All the people across the DPRK significantly celebrated the 134th May Day, the international holiday of working people all over the world.

The Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il are preserved in their lifetime appearance, brimmed with boundless reverence of the Korean people for them.

The visitors who entered the plaza of the palace with reverence paid high tribute to the sacred images of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, who built a working people’s country on the land of Korea and put the dignity and interests of the people on the highest level.

Officials and working people laid flower baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of the great leaders in different parts of the country and made a bow to them.

Officials of organs of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government across the country significantly celebrated May Day together with working people.

They encouraged the workers who are making innovative successes in the struggle to attain the goals set by the Eighth Congress of the WPK.

Sports and amusement games were held at industrial establishments and farms across the country, including the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex, the Munphyong Smeltery, the Sinuiju Textile Mill and the Paeksok Farm in Sinchon County, adding to the joy of the working people.

Colorful performances were given at theatres and outdoor stages in the capital city of Pyongyang and other parts of the country, revving up the atmosphere of the holiday.

Public catering establishments across the country were crowded with visitors, and the cultural recreation grounds in Pyongyang including the Central Zoo, the Natural History Museum and the Munsu Water Park resounded with happy laughter of the working people.
