Old People’s Homes in the DPRK

In the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, it is a social climate to respect and give preferential treatment to the elderly. There are old people’s homes in the capital and provinces of the country.

The Pyongyang Old People’s Home with a history of about 70 years was rebuilt in 2015 on the bank of the picturesque Taedong River.

The elderly enjoy their remaining years, tending vegetable plots and flower gardens, reading books in the library, doing exercises in the fitness room and seeing movies.

They are provided by the state with everything they need, to say nothing of foods and clothes. The old people’s home is equipped with modern medical facilities.
