Participating at ISWG-GHG 11

 

The eleventh meeting of the Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships was held remotely by IMO from 14 March to 18 March 2022. Present were over 460 representatives from sixty five IMO member States,  including the DPR Korea, and forty two governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Participants gave focused consideration to development of draft lifecycle GHG and carbon intensity guidelines for maritime fuels, lessons-learned exercise for the comprehensive impact assessment of the ship GHG reduction short-term measure and proposals for the revision of the ship fuel oil consumption Data Collection System.

The Workshop approved the draft amendments to appendix IX, annex VI of MARPOL which will be submitted to MEPC 78 to be held in June this year.
